Uttar Pradesh Prime Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday reviewed preparations for the Dev Deepawali celebrations that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend in Varanasi on November 30.

He said the celebrations will be great. “This time, Modi’s presence will grace the celebrations.”

Adityanath also inspected the site in Khajuri village, where Modi will address some 10,000 workers from the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Development director Madhusudan said officers have been deployed to guard the arrangements and ensure that at least 500,000 earthen lamps are lit on the eastern bank of the Ganges in Dev Deepawali. More than 600,000 lamps will be lit on the ghats on the west bank of the river.
