Farmers protest LIVE updates: intensified vigil on Haryana-Delhi border
Punjab farmers, protesting against the three controversial agricultural laws passed by the Center in September, will resume their march to Delhi on Friday in what is the second day of their two-day “Dilli Chalo” protest. On Thursday, protesting farmers were able to cross into neighboring Haryana despite violent clashes with the Haryana police. The police action sparked a war of words between the two states.

With the border between Haryana and Delhi completely sealed off, farmers are likely to face resistance once again in their attempt to reach the national capital. The farmers, however, say they have enough ration and other essential items and will sit in ‘dharna’ wherever the police stop them. Delhi police had already rejected two separate requests from farmers to protest in the city, citing the Covid-19 regulations in effect here.
