Ahmed Patel rested; Rahul Gandhi attends the funeral | India News

BHHARUCH: The main leader of the Congress, Ahmed Patel, was buried in his hometown Piraman in the Bharuch district of Gujarat on Thursday.
Congressional leader Rahul Gandhi attended the funeral of the party’s key strategist and problem solver, who died on Wednesday.
Patel’s mortal remains came to Piraman from Vadodara and he was buried in a Muslim cemetery in the presence of hundreds of locals and Congressional leaders.
The mortal remains arrived at the Vadodara airport on Wednesday evening and were kept at the Sardar Patel Hospital in the town of Ankleshwar in the Bharuch district.
After landing at Surat airport on Thursday morning, Gandhi reached Piraman by road and comforted the grieving family of the former congressional deputy.
According to Patel’s wishes, he was buried next to his parents’ graves.
Gujarat Congress President Amit Chavda, Gujarat-led AICC Rajeev Satav, Lok Sabha Congress Leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, and former Chief Ministers Kamal Nath and Shankersinh Vaghela were among those who attended the funeral.
