BJP to suffer political coup in 2021, says Mamata Banerjee
Attacking the Bharatiya Janata Party for “defeating other parties through manipulation,” West Bengal’s Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said on Wednesday that the party would suffer a political blow in 2021.
Banerjee, the head of the Trinamool Congress (TMC), launched her party’s campaign for state assembly elections early next year from Bankura district on Wednesday.
Addressing a demonstration in Sanukpahari in the district, he said: “The BJP is a curse on the country. It has to be stopped. He did not win the Bihar assembly elections. He defeated others through manipulation. “
The BJP emerged as the second largest party with 74 seats in the Bihar assembly polls, which concluded recently.
“I will take full responsibility from now on. He was too involved in administrative tasks and could not devote that much time (to the party). That’s why I’m starting with Bankura ”, said Banerjee. “I promise you (BJP) will not win a single assembly seat in Bankura next year. Some people think that if you happen to come to power they can make a fortune. Let me clarify that they have no chance in the Bengal polls, ”he said.
Addressing an election rally in Birbhum district, Bengal BJP Chairman Dilip Ghosh said: “The TMC cannot win the polls through manipulation and intimidation. The central forces will be deployed near the polling places and the local police will be stationed far away. “
