PM Modi inaugurates multi-storey apartments for MPs in New Delhi | India News

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled multi-story flats for Members of Parliament (MPs) on Monday via video conference, located at Dr BD Marg in New Delhi.
Lok Sabha President Om Birla was also present on the occasion.
Eight bungalows, which were more than 80 years old, have been rehabilitated to build 76 houses.
The construction of these floors has been completed with a saving of around 14 percent of the sanctioned cost and without excess time despite the impact of Covid-19, according to a statement from the PMO.
Several green building initiatives have been incorporated into construction, including bricks made from fly ash and construction and demolition debris, double-glazed windows for thermal insulation and energy efficiency, energy efficient LED lighting fixtures, sensors based on the occupancy for light control, air conditioners with VRV system for low energy consumption, low-flow luminaires for water conservation, rainwater harvesting system and rooftop solar plant, he added.
