PM Modi to lay foundation stones for UP water supply projects in Mirzapur, Sonbhadra districts today | India News


NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for rural drinking water supply projects in Mirzapur and Sonbhadra districts of Uttar Pradesh at 11.30am on Sunday via video conference.
The Prime Minister will interact with the Village Water and Sanitation Committees / PaSamiti members during the event, according to an official statement.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will also be present at the occasion.
The projects will provide piped water connections to all rural households in 2,995 villages and will benefit a population of 42 lakh in Mirzapur and Sonbhadra districts. Village Water and Sanitation Committees / Paani Samiti have been formed in all these villages, which will take responsibility for operation and maintenance.
The total estimated cost of the projects is Rs 5,555.38 million. The projects are expected to be completed in 24 months.
