Fight against Covid-19: Center brings high-level teams to UP, Punjab and Himachal | India News


NEW DELHI: The government decided to delegate high-level core teams in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh to support these states in responding to and managing Covid-19, according to a statement from the Union Ministry of Health on Sunday.
These states have been reporting an increase in the number of active cases, that is, those who are hospitalized or in home isolation under medical supervision, or demonstrating an increase in new cases daily, he said.
The Health Ministry said the three-member teams will visit the districts that report a high number of Covid cases and support the State’s efforts to strengthen containment, surveillance, testing, infection prevention and control measures and efficient clinical management. of positive cases.
Core teams will also provide guidance in effectively managing challenges related to timely diagnosis and monitoring.
Previously, the central government had sent high-level teams to Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Manipur and Chhattisgarh.
India’s current number of active cases (4,40,962) has declined further to 4.85 percent of total positive cases and has remained below 5 percent, the Health Ministry said, adding that the rate recovery has improved to 93.69 percent today.
The gap between recovered cases and active cases is constantly increasing and is currently 80,80,655.
India’s coronavirus count reached 90.95,807 on Sunday after 45,209 new infections were reported in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
The total of cases includes 4,40,962 active cases and 85,21,617 recoveries. With 501 new deaths, the death toll from coronavirus in the country amounted to 1,33,227.
This is the 15th day that India reported fewer than 50,000 cases in one day. The last time daily new cases crossed the 50,000 threshold was on November 7.
Maharashtra has 80,878 active coronavirus cases, the highest in the country, followed by Kerala with 66,982 and Delhi with 39,741.
