Ayurveda, Yoga to help deal with post-Covid-19 problems: Shripad Naik
The Minister of State of the Union for AYUSH, Shripad Naik, has said that Ayurveda, Yoga and other systems will be of great help for everyone to cope with the difficulties after the Covid-19.
In a series of tweets on Saturday, Naik said that a new model of health care delivery with more emphasis on preventive measures is needed to effectively counter such a crisis in the future.
The profound impact of the pandemic will lead to fundamental changes in society and the health system, he said after addressing via virtual mode to a global web conference on ‘Post Covid-19 Era – Health & Humanity Impact on Human and Societies’ .
“I am sure that Ayurveda, Yoga and other systems will be of great help to the whole world to cope with the difficulties of Post Covid,” tweeted Naik, who recovered from the coronavirus infection in September.
He said that Ayurveda and other traditional systems of medicine by virtue of their holistic approach to health and disease and cost effectiveness have an advantage in treating health problems with primary prevention of disease.
“These systems also have solutions to combat the psychological and emotional problems that arise after the pandemic,” he tweeted.
Ayurveda has been included in the national treatment protocol launched jointly by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Ministry of AYUSH, he said.
“India is not only taking effective measures to prevent and treat this disease in the national context, but is also a strong supporter of joining international efforts,” the minister said.
