NCB raids comedian Bharti Singh’s residence and seizes marijuana
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) raided the residence of comedian Bharti Singh in Mumbai on Saturday and said he had seized marijuana from there. NCB area director Sameer Wankhede confirmed the recovery but declined to provide further details. He added that raids were taking place elsewhere in Mumbai.
Another NCB official said that Bharti and her husband Harsh were being questioned about the smuggling.
The NCB is investigating the drug angle in the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput on June 14.
He previously raided the residence of actor Arjun Rampal and his partner, Gabriella Demetriades, and interrogated them. The NCB arrested Gabriella’s brother, Agisilaos Demetriades, a South African citizen, and allegedly seized drugs from him.
Rampal has maintained that the medication found in his home was prescribed and has submitted a prescription to NCB.
