Four dead and five hospitalized after consuming illicit liquor in UP’s Prayagraj
Four people died and at least five were admitted to hospital after consuming illicit liquor in the Prayagraj district of Uttar Pradesh, the ANI news agency reported.
Prayagraj District Magistrate Bhanu Chandra Goswami said the incident took place in the village of Amilia, below the boundaries of the Phulpur Police Station.
“A team of district officials arrived in the village of Amilia after receiving information about deaths from illicit liquor consumption. Four deaths have been reported to us, while five to six people are admitted to the hospital, ”Goswami said.
Samples of the spurious liquor were sent for analysis, the official said, adding that the culprits will be punished according to the law.
