Essential Constitution in the Construction of New India, Teaches Discipline, Unity in Diversity: Rajnath Singh | India News

NEW DELHI: Stating that the Constitution is essential in building ‘New India’, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said Wednesday that it teaches discipline and unity in diversity.
“The Constitution teaches discipline and unity in diversity. Freedom, equality, social harmony and goodwill are its foundation. The first word of the preamble, ‘We’, says a lot in itself. We have to understand it and make it others understand too. It is essential in the construction of ‘New India’, said the Defense Minister while addressing the inauguration of the ‘Constitution Day Youth Club Activities’ organized by the National Cadet Corps (NCC ) in partnership with youth organizations to educate youth of the basic principles of the Indian Constitution.
“I wish that we, the people of New India, come together, move forward in elevating the society and the nation and achieve success,” he added.
The Constitution of India is one of the factors that our democracy is known for throughout the world, said the Minister.
“Our Constitution is for the people of India, by the people of India and for the people of India. Our Constitution teaches us to ‘become one and be fair,'” he said.
The Minister said that a week later, the country will celebrate the sixth Constitution Day.
“In 2014, in addition to the opportunity to serve the country, one of the greatest efforts made by the government was to celebrate Constitution Day. The beginning of this day expresses our faith and fidelity to the Constitution. Our Honorable Prime Minister, when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, began to celebrate the Constitution Day. In 2015, on the 125th anniversary of the birth of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar ji, he gave him a form of national festival on November 26, for which we have gathered here today, “he said.
Constitution Day is celebrated on November 26 to mark the adoption of the Constitution of India by the Constituent Assembly on this day in 1949. It entered into force on January 26, 1950, marking the beginning of a new era in the history of the Republic of India.
Constitution Day was first celebrated in 2015 as a tribute to India’s Prime Minister of Law, Bhim Rao Ambedkar, who played a key role in drafting the document.
The Constitution of India, one of the longest written Constitutions in the world, consists of a Preamble, 22 parts with 395 articles and 8 programs.
