PM Modi speaks with the president-elect of the United States, Biden | India News


NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with United States President-elect Joe Biden on Tuesday, and both leaders reiterated their strong commitment to the strategic partnership between the two countries while discussing their shared priorities and concerns about the Covid-19 pandemic, climate change, and cooperation in the Indo-Pacific. region.
This was the first interaction between the two leaders after Democrat Biden defeated incumbent President Donald Trump in the US presidential election.
“I spoke by phone with US President-elect @JoeBiden to congratulate him. We reiterate our strong commitment to the Indo-American strategic partnership and discussed our shared priorities and concerns: the Covid-19 pandemic, climate change and cooperation. in the Indo-Pacific Region, ” Modi he said in a tweet.

The prime minister also congratulated the vice president-elect of the United States, Kamala Harris.
“Their success is a source of great pride and inspiration to members of the vibrant Indian-American community, who are a tremendous source of strength for Indo-US relations,” he said.
