Security forces rescue 10 people stranded by heavy snowfall | India News

JAMMU: In a joint rescue operation, a team of Jammu and Kashmir Police and Army personnel rescued 10 people, including two women and a child, trapped in heavy snow at high-altitude Sinthan Pass on Monday in the Kishtwar district.
Sharing details of the rescue operation, Jammu-based defense spokesman Lt. Col. Devender Anand said: “The rescue operation was carried out on Sunday night after information was received about a group of civilians stranded in the Sinthan pass that connects the Kishtwar district in the Jammu region with Anantnag. Kashmir Division District “.
Acting swiftly, the rescue team made up of Army and Police personnel walked for five hours along National Highway 244 in conditions of zero visibility at night. “The team brought the stranded people to the Sinthan field, where they were provided with food and shelter,” the defense spokesman said.
