ETAWAH: Hinting at a possible electoral tie with his uncle’s separated uncle’s Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said on Saturday that Shivpal Yadav will have a cabinet place if his party forms the government in the state.
However, he made it clear that the Samajwadi Party (SP) will not enter into any electoral alliance with the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) led by Mayawati.
“The adjustment will be made with smaller parties, but there will be no alliance with larger parties,” Akhilesh Yadav told reporters here.
Asked whether the SP will form an electoral alliance with his uncle Shivpal Yadav’s Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party, he said: “We will adjust that party as well. Jaswantnagar is his seat (Shivpal Yadav’s) and the Samajwadi Party vacated it. In the near future, we will make your leader a cabinet minister, and what further adjustment is needed? ”
Elections to the Legislative Assembly in Uttar Pradesh are scheduled for February-March 2022.
Accusing the BJP of using “deception” to defeat the Mahagathbandhan ‘(led by the Rashtriya Janata Dal) in the recently concluded Bihar assembly elections, Akhilesh Yadav said: “The highest public support was seen at the Mahagathbandhan rallies and all the polls pointed to a historic victory for him. But when the EVMs were opened for vote counting, the results stopped in the middle and the victory certificates were given to someone else. ”
When asked about the performance of the SP in the recent elections to seven assembly seats in the UP, Akhilesh Yadav said: “When elections are contested by election officials, police superintendents, additional district magistrates, the SHOs and the bossy police, then win. ”
“The BJP was not contesting the elections but its government officials,” he added. The SP chief attacked the BJP government, saying that corruption and injustice have run rampant in the state. “If someone is insulting the people, they will overthrow that government when they get the chance,” he said.
Several leaders and workers from Congress and the BSP joined the SP in the presence of Akhilesh Yadav on the occasion.
