5 of an interstate gang arrested, 750 kg of cannabis seized | India News


LUCK: The Uttar Pradesh Police Special Task Force arrested five members of an interstate gang involved in narcotics smuggling and recovered 750 kilograms of cannabis worth 1.50 million rupees, authorities said Saturday. In a statement issued here, the STF said the five were arrested at the Netanagar railway crossing that falls below the Suriyava police station of the Bhadohi district.
Apart from 750 kg of ‘ganja’ worth Rs 1.50 million, two four-wheelers, seven mobile phones, three Aadhaar cards, two driving licenses, three ATM cards were recovered from the defendants. and three voter I cards, according to the statement.
During questioning, the defendants revealed that they used to buy illegal “ganja” from Andhra Pradesh and sell it at higher prices in different districts of UP.
