NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi mourned the passing of Madhya Pradesh BJP leader Kailash Sarang on Saturday, saying he will be remembered as a compassionate and hardworking leader.
Sarang died Saturday at a Mumbai hospital, family sources said. He was 85 years old.
The Madhya Pradesh BJP leader, suffering from age-related ailments, had been admitted to a hospital in Mumbai 12 days ago, sources said.
“Kailash Sarang Ji made stupendous efforts to strengthen the BJP in Madhya Pradesh. He will be remembered as a compassionate and hard-working leader, committed to the progress of the MP,” Prime Minister Modi tweeted.
“Anguished by his passing. Condolences to his family and supporters. Om Shanti,” he said.
