BSF SI Killed, Jawan Wounded in Violation of Ceasefire Along LoC in Kashmir | India News

NEW DELHI: A Border Security Force deputy inspector was killed while a jawan was injured in the violation of the ceasefire by Pakistani troops along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, said the authorities.
They said that SI Rakesh Doval deployed to the BSF artillery battery at the LoC in Baramulla died after sustaining a head injury in the shooting at around 1:15 pm.
Another jawan, Sheriff Vasu Raja, suffered splinter injuries to his arms and cheeks. It was deployed in the same place defended ahead, they said.
The sheriff is stable, authorities said.
“The deputy inspector has made a supreme sacrifice in the line of duty when faced with a severe violation of the ceasefire by the enemy. The noncommissioned officer was a resident of Uttarakhand,” they said.
“The ceasefire violation shooting is still active and the BSF is responding effectively,” said a senior BSF official.
