NEW DELHI: Twitter stated on Friday that they had temporarily blocked the account of Union Interior Minister Amit Shah “due to an inadvertent error” on November 12 and clarified that the decision it was immediately reversed and the account was restored.
However, after a while, they restored the account. “Due to an inadvertent mistake, we temporarily blocked this account under our global copyright policies. This decision was immediately reversed and the account is fully functional,” said a spokesperson for the microblogging site.
The Twitter image of Union Interior Minister Amit Shah was removed by the microblogging site on Thursday in response to a “report from the copyright holder.”
When I clicked Show Shah’s picture on his verified ID, a blank page was displayed with the message: “Media not displayed. This picture was removed in response to a report from the copyright holder.”
Twitter’s copyright policy states: “In general, the photographer and not the subject of a photograph is the beneficial owner of the rights to the resulting photograph.”
