Maharashtra Governor Calls for Safe, Pollution-Free Diwali Amid Covid-19 Pandemic

Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari on Thursday extended a Diwali greeting to the people of the state, urging them to celebrate the festival in a “safe, environmentally friendly and pollution-free” manner in light of the Covid-19 pandemic.

In a message to citizens, the Governor said: “I extend my warmest greetings to all on the auspicious occasion of Diwali. May the festival of lights bring happiness, prosperity and satisfaction in everyone’s life ”. Koshyari noted that the challenge launched by the new coronavirus is “far from over.”

“I call on people to celebrate a safe, environmentally friendly and pollution-free Diwali. Let’s make Diwali truly inclusive by sharing our joy with at least one poor and disadvantaged person, ”he said.
