Citizens of border areas, defense forces are stakeholders in maintaining security: Amit Shah | India News

KUTCH: The Union Interior Minister Amit Shah declared on Thursday that citizens residing near borders are the main stakeholders in maintaining security together with defense forces.
The Interior Minister made the statement while speaking at an event called ‘Vikasotsava 2020’ organized in Gujarat’s Kutch district.
“The aim of this ‘Vikasotsava’ is to bring amenities to the residents of our border villages that are on par with those available in other inland villages. Border citizens have the primary stake in maintaining security alongside our forces of defense, “Shah said.
“When I visited Bhuj in 2001 after the earthquake, it was in ruins. All places of residence were razed. Now shopping malls and buildings have been erected in such quantity. This development is a testament to the resilience of the people of Bhuj.” added. added the Interior Minister.
During his visit, Shah is also scheduled to interact with the village chiefs of three border districts: Kutch, Banaskantha and Patan in Rann de Kutch.
