Sporting a TRS Scarf, 35-Year-Old Hangs After Party Loses Poll | India News

HYDERABAD: Reportedly depressed over the defeat of Telangana candidate Rashtra Samithi (TRS) at the bypoll held in the Dubbak constituency, a 35-year-old party worker allegedly died of suicide in the Siddipet district, police said Wednesday.
The man committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree in the village of Konaipally on Tuesday night, a police officer said.
According to his wife, he was depressed that the TRS candidate lost the by-elections, the official added. One case was registered under section 174 of the CrPC (unnatural death). The deceased was found with a TRS scarf around his neck.
In a close contest, BJP’s M Raghunandan Rao defeated TRS candidate Sujatha by a margin of 1,079 votes on the Dubbak ring road, the results of which were announced on Tuesday.
