Judging Cases is My Life, Says Judge Chandrachud on His Birthday | India News

NEW DELHI: Judging cases is my life and I love it, said Justice DY Chandrachud, one of the Supreme Court justices, after the marathon-day vacation hearing in the Arnab Goswami case.
Judge Chandrachud, who turned 61 on Wednesday, was responding to the statement of top defender Harish Salve, who in a lighter vein commented that it was the worst way to spend the birthday.
At the end of the hearing, Salve, who introduced himself for Republic TV’s editor-in-chief, wished it and noted that the hearing lasted all day.
Nerd! Actually, this is the best way to spend it. I am in court judging and it is my life, I love it, said Judge Chandrachud.
He thanked all the lawyers for wishing him on the occasion.
Justice Chandrachud would become the Chief Justice of India on November 9, 2022, and would remain in office until November 10, 2024.
The court, which also includes Judge Indira Banerjee, granted provisional bond to Goswami and two others on Wednesday in the 2018 suicide incitement case.
