Google Celebrates India’s 74th Independence Day with a Doodle | India News


NEW DELHI: Google marked Saturday India’s 74th Independence Day with a scribble.
The illustration was the work of Mumbai guest artist Sachin Ghanekar, and depicted India’s rich musical heritage, dating back more than 6,000 years. The scribble featured several iconic folk instruments, including the tutari, shehnai, dhol, veena, sarangi, and bansuri.

The musical diversity displayed in the doodle was a representation of the varied culture of India.

“On a philosophical level, my inspiration was the diversity of this country. This rich, meticulously woven cultural fabric always amazes me. For the performance of the Doodle, I included various musical instruments, drawing inspiration from various forms of Indian art such as Kalamkari, Madhubani, Warli, Gond , Phad and Pichwai to make this idea a reality, “said Ghanekar according to Google.
