Kamal Nath will present the recital ‘Hanuman Chalisa’ on the eve of the Ayodhya event | India News

BHOPAL: The head of the Madhya Pradesh Congress, Kamal Nath, will organize a ‘Hanuman Chalisa’ recital at his residence here on Tuesday, a day before the opening ceremony of the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
All COVID-19 protocols will be strictly followed during the event, Congress spokesman Bhupendra Gupta said Sunday.
“The ‘Hanuman Chalisa’ recital was organized at Nathji’s residence on Tuesday. He is an avid Hanumanji devotee. He has asked the cadre and party leaders to recite ‘Hanuman Chalisa’ at their homes on Tuesday, Gupta said.
On Saturday Kamal Nath said that a Ram temple is being built in Ayodhya with the consent of all Indians.
When asked about the reason behind the event hosted by the former state prime minister, Gupta said Tuesday that it is an auspicious day.
“Nothing should be read. It is a purely spiritual event,” he said.
At ‘Hanuman Jayanti’ in April, Nath was unable to hold a major annual religious event in his Chhindwara constituency following the fall of his government, he said.
A few years ago, Nath, who was a member of Parliament, managed to install a 101-foot-tall Lord Hanuman statue in the Chhindwara district, he added.
In March this year, 22 MLA from the rebel Congress, loyal to former Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, resigned from the party, leading to the downfall of the 15-month-old Kamal Nath government in the state.
Following the rebellion, Kamal Nath resigned as prime minister on March 20, paving the way for the BJP to return to power in the state.
Since March, 25 MLAs have so far resigned from Congress and the State Assembly.
