We must face China: Foreign Minister S Jaishankar | India News

NEW DELHI: With Indian and Chinese troops locked in a protracted military confrontation, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar told TOI in an interview on Saturday that “striking a balance with China is not going to be easy and India must stay firm”.
Making it clear that resolving tensions in LAC was critical, Jaishankar told Indrani Bagchi: “The state of the border and the future of our ties (with China) cannot be separated. Thats the reality “.
India’s relationship with the United States is also changing, as the latter is changing the way it deals with the world, according to Jaishankar, who believes that India is well placed here, and despite not being an ally traditional of the United States, it is adapting well to the new realities.
The foreign minister said ties to China were bilateral in nature and that it would be a misinterpretation of the Indian position to read them in the context of India’s relations with the United States.
