Work From Home News: Government Extends Work From Domestic IT Rules, IT Companies to December 31 | India Business News
NEW DELHI: The government said Tuesday that it extended connectivity standards to Work from home for IT and BPO companies up to December 31.
The time period for working from home expired on July 31.
“DoT has further expanded the terms and conditions relaxations for other service providers until December 31, 2020 to facilitate work from home in view of the current concern over COVID-19,” said the Telecommunications Department at an evening tweet.
Currently, about 85 percent of the IT workforce works from home, and only those who perform critical functions go to offices.
In March, the DoT relaxed certain standards for OSPs until April 30 to facilitate work from home (WFH) amid the coronavirus pandemic that lasted until July 31.
Confirmed cases of coronavirus in India have crossed 11.55 lakh with 28,084 people dying as of Tuesday.
