NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Wednesday that our focus on the future must be human-centered for the poor and vulnerable, at the Ideas Summit in India.
Delivering his opening address at the summit, Prime Minister Modi said that we all agree that the world needs a better future. And it is all of us who must collectively shape the future.
Here are the main points:
* India invites you to invest in healthcare. The health sector in India is growing more than 22% every year.
* Our companies are also making progress in the production of medical, telemedicine and diagnostic technology.
* Today, there is global optimism towards India. This is because India offers a perfect combination of openness, opportunity and technology. India celebrates openness in people and in governance. Open minds make the open market and open markets lead to greater prosperity.
* It took a global pandemic to remind us of the importance of resilience.
* Global economic resilience can be achieved through stronger internal economic capacities. This means improved domestic capacity for manufacturing, restoring the health of the financial system and diversifying international trade.
* Our focus on the future must be human-centered with the poor and vulnerable at the core.
* The virtual summit is organized by the United States-India Business Council and this year marks the 45th anniversary of the council’s formation.
* The theme for this year’s India Ideas Summit is ‘Building a better future,’ said a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.
