CM Uddhav Thackeray meets Sharad Pawar, Sena says Maha govt is strong | India News

MUMBAI: Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray held a meeting with NCP President Sharad Pawar, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said on Tuesday, saying the state government is “strong.”

The two leaders met for about an hour and a half late on Monday night, Raut said, dismissing speculation about the stability of the Thackeray-led government.

Deputy Sena Rajya Sabha, however, did not disclose what happened between the two leaders.

The meeting between Thackeray and Pawar took place after the PCN chief met with state governor B S Koshyari on Monday morning.

PNC chief Sharad Pawar and chief minister Uddhav Thackeray had an hour and a half meeting. Those who doubt the stability of this government do so out of their own rancor. This government is strong, “Raut tweeted in Marathi.

Previously, Pawar met with Koshyari on Monday morning, after which the PCN stated that the meeting was held at the invitation of the governor and that no political issues were discussed.

However, the timing of the meeting is significant as it took place in the context of strained relations between Shiv Sena, who heads the Maharashtra government Vikas Aghadi (MVA), and Raj Bhavan.

NCP is one of the key components of MVA.

Pawar was one of the key Maharashtra leaders who had openly complained about Koshyari’s “intervention” in the operation of the state administration.

Recently, the top BJP leader and former prime minister of state, Devendra Fadnavis, complained to the governor about the Thackeray government’s “failure” in handling the Covid-19 crisis.
