He had said that objectionable content with younger girls was removed from the platform as soon as he realized it.
The Delhi Women’s Commission (DCW) had issued a notice to Instagram and the Delhi Police, considering the matter.
Some of those involved are from renowned schools in the national capital, police said.
Information about the group came to light after a girl shared screenshots of their activities. After this, the group began to be called on social networks.
Police said that during social media monitoring, it was noted that the group was being used by participants to share obscene messages and transformed photos.
A case was registered Monday under the relevant sections of the IT Law and the CPI, authorities said.
