Covid 19 Tracker India: 92 new cases and four deaths due to Covid-19 in India in the last 24 hours: Government | India News
Technically, Covid-19 is still in the local transmission stage in the country, as there has been no community transmission so far, said joint secretary of the health ministry Luv Aggarwal.
Addressing the daily press conference on the actions taken, preparation and updates on Covid-19 at 4pm, Agarwal reported that 92 new cases of Covid-19 and four deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours, leading to the total cases at 1,071 and the number of deaths at 29.
Underlining the importance of social distancing, he said that even a person’s carelessness can lead to the spread of this pandemic.
Instead of spreading panic, he said, you need to raise awareness about Covid-19.
Speaking at the same press conference, R Gangakhedkar of the Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR) said 38,442 tests have been performed to date, of which 3,501 were done on Sunday.
In the past three days, 1,334 tests have been performed in private laboratories, he added.
“We are still less than 30% of our testing capacity,” he added.
