Prison offenders could be shot on sight: Telangana CM | India News

HYDERABAD: Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao said Tuesday that it will have no choice but to issue orders to shoot on sight if people do not stay indoors during the shutdown period. Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, he also threatened a 24-hour curfew if people violate the closing orders.

“Do not create a situation in which the government has no choice but to issue orders to shoot the police on sight,” he said. Annoyed at the way people took to the streets on Mondays and Tuesdays, he said he could consider asking the Army to take charge, in addition to shutting down gas pumps to keep people off the roads, he said. “The curfew would be implemented from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. and all stores should close at 6 p.m. daily,” he said.
