Please don’t panic; essential products, medicines will be available: PM Modi | India News


NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday urged people not to panic and assured citizens that there will be no shortage of essential products and drugs during the 21-day shutdown period.

“There is absolutely no need to panic,” PM Modi said in a tweet.

“Essential products, medicines, etc. would be available. The center and various state governments will work closely together to ensure this,” he said.

Warning people not to hoard essential items, PM Modi said: “By converging on the stores, you risk spreading Covid-19. Please don’t panic. Please stay indoors.”

He reiterated that the Center and state governments will ensure that all essential items are available.

Earlier today, PM Modi announced a 21-day blockade to control the spread of the coronavirus.
