Uttarakhand issues statewide blockade: Uttarakhand Lockdown: Despite the blockade, Dehradun sees traffic jams | Dehradun News
Large numbers of people in cars and two-wheelers were seen near the Clock Tower, one of the city’s busiest intersections, on Monday morning. Some were seen arguing with police personnel stationed there who tried to stop them.
Speaking to TOI, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) / Senior Police Superintendent (SSP) Dehradun Arun Mohan Joshi said: “The order says that people can go out and buy essential items like groceries, vegetables and milk. However, if someone is found on the road without a valid reason, strict action is being taken in the relevant sections. ”
CM Trivendra Rawat, meanwhile, asked officials to strictly enforce the closure. In a message Monday, Rawat said the blockade has been put in place for the safety of people and urged residents to cooperate with authorities and remain in their homes until March 31.
