CBSE Board 10 and 12 2020 exams postponed due to coronavirus epidemic


NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Wednesday, March 18, late in the afternoon, announced that as a precautionary measure and in compliance with the instructions received from the Secretary, Department of Higher Education / School Education and Literacy , Government of India, It has been decided to reschedule the current board exams for class 10 and class 12 students across the country and abroad.

In the published notice, the CBSE has instructed that, “All ongoing board exams for classes 10 and 12, taking place at test centers in India and abroad, and scheduled between March 19 2020 and March 31, 2020 (both dates inclusive), will be rescheduled after March 31, 2020. ”

During the mentioned period, the re-examinations that were rescheduled for the candidates from Northeast Delhi will also be rescheduled.

The board of directors will communicate the rescheduled dates before March 31, 2020, after a new assessment of the situation.

All ongoing board exams related to assessment work at various assessment centers in the country are also suspended until March 31, 2020. All nodal supervisors at the center can ensure rescheduling of the assessment from 01 April 2020, unless the Board indicates otherwise.

CBSE The announcement came after a directive from the Ministry of Human Resources Development that said exams are important, but the safety of students and teachers is equally important.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) also postponed JEE for IIT, admissions to engineering colleges. “New date for JEE to decide according to the board’s schedule, other competitive exams,” the National Evidence Agency said on March 18.

The National Institute of Open Education (NIOS) has also postponed all exams.

The total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus infection rose to 151 in the country on Wednesday.
