Coronavirus scare in Noida: one school closes, another closes from tomorrow | Noida News

NOIDA: A renowned school in Noida has been closed for three days in the midst of a coronavirus scare, one day after the father of a Class 6 student was detected with the infection. Another school decided to close from Wednesday to March 11 to take preventive measures.

Health department officials visited both schools and collected samples of two children from the school.

The team was led by the medical director who started the disinfection exercise at the facilities of one of the schools. The child’s family has been quarantined.

“We have quarantined the family for now and the medical director arrived at the location and advised the school to close and ordered a deep fumigation. There is nothing to worry about, ”Gautam Budh Nagar district magistrate BN Singh told TOI.

The school in Sector 135 of Noida was closed for the next three days due to fumigation due to concerns about the infection. The other school is located in Sector 168 of Noida.

The school authority has asked parents to pick up the children. Many students also skipped school after the scare.

The person who tested positive for coronavirus in Delhi on Monday organized a birthday party. It was said that several children of this school were present at that party.

The first case of coronavirus was detected in Delhi on March 2. The person from Delhi had traveled to Italy. He is being diagnosed in the RML hospital.

“The patient is stable and is being closely monitored,” the ministry of health said Monday.

India reported two more positive cases on Monday and a suspected case of Covid-19, the new coronavirus infection that has killed more than 3,000 people worldwide so far.
