Internet Trends #BoycottThappad, calling for a ban on the Taapsee Pannu movie for its participation in the protests against CAA | Hindi Movie News

Taapsee Pannu has always been very open in social networks and it seems that his choices have led to his next release “Thappad” in a soup. Internet users have been trending #BoycottThappad on social networks, calling for the banning of the film for the protagonist, the participation of Taapsee in a protest against the CAA. The actress joined a peaceful protest on Carter Road in Mumbai, supporting students from Jawaharlal Nehru University in January, who were attacked by a masked crowd in January. Several Internet users compared their movement with that of Deepika Padukone, who sympathized with the students in Delhi.

While talking about CAA, Taapsee had told IANS: “I have not expressed my views on CAA because I have not studied about it. But the images I saw in Jamia, I did not feel were pleasant. I felt really sad when I saw the videos where students talked about their plight. I feel that something big has happened or that something big is going to happen. ”

Directed by Anubhav Sinha, “Thappad” also features Dia Mirza and Pavail Gulati in key roles. The film is scheduled to arrive on the screens on February 28.
