India was great, very successful trip: Donald Trump
Trump was on his first official visit to India from February 24 to 25. He was accompanied by First Lady Melania and a high-powered delegation composed of senior officials of the US administration, including National Security Advisor Robert O’Brien.
They visited Ahmedabad, Agra and New Delhi before leaving for Washington on Tuesday.
“I just landed. India was great, the trip was very successful,” Trump tweeted shortly after landing in the United States after his 36-hour visit to India.
When Trump left for the United States, Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked the US president for coming to India on Tuesday night and said the visit has been “innovative.”
“The friendship between India and the United States benefits the people of our nations and the world,” Modi said in a series of tweets.
During the visit, India and the United States finalized defense agreements worth $ 3 billion on Tuesday under which 30 military helicopters will be acquired from two major US defense officers for the Indian armed forces.
Trump landed in New Delhi on the night of February 24 after attending the ‘Namaste Trump’ event in Ahmedabad and visiting the Taj Mahal in Agra.
