New clashes between protesters for and against the Citizenship Law (Amendment) erupted again in Delhi in less than 24 hours, as incidents of gunfire and fire in Maujpur area in northeast Delhi were reported, the Monday in the afternoon.
Tension continued to prevail in the area as another stone attack was reported between the pro and anti-CAA groups, with people running without help even when police tried to control the situation.
The last stone throwing incident occurred after eyewitnesses previously said there were stone throws from the crematorium side in the area.
Meanwhile, the Delhi metro has announced the closure of the entrance and exit doors of the Maujpur-Babarpur metro station.
A large number of anti-CAA protesters had gathered on Saturday night in front of the Jaffrabad subway station in northeast Delhi. Protesters blocked the road no. 66 that connects Seelampur to Maujpur and Yamuna Vihar.
