Arrest of Amulya Leona: What Amulya Leona said is wrong, says her father | Bengaluru News

BENGALURU: “What Amulya said is wrong. Some Muslims joined her and did not listen to me,” said Amulya’s father, who raised the slogan ‘Pakistan zindabad’ at the manifestation of the Anti-Citizen Amendment Act (CAA) in Bengaluru Thursday.

The police have registered a case of sedition against the girl.

“We have registered a case of suo moto under Section 124A (sedition), 153A and B (promoting enmity between different groups and accusations, statements detrimental to national integration). Once the formalities are completed, we will present Amulya before the judge judicial, “B Ramesh, DCP Bengaluru (West) told reporters.

Karnataka Minister CT Ravi condemned the incident and said: “The ‘deshdrohis’ (anti-national) should not be pardoned. Sedition charges must be brought against her.”

Amulya Leona raised the slogan ‘Pakistan zindabad’ at an anti-CAA rally organized by the head of AIMIM Asaduddin Owaisi on Thursday.

Authorities said police will first interrogate Amulya and then present her to a court.

The shock spoiled Owaisi’s function here when the girl managed to get on stage and began shouting slogans: ‘Hindustan Zindabad’ and ‘Pakistan Zindabad’.

She wanted to differentiate between ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ and ‘Hindustan Zindabad’, but the organizers and police officers on duty took her quickly.

Owaisi himself hastened to remove the microphone. I was having an individual relationship with the public.

Owaisi said: “I condemn this statement. The woman is not associated with us. Humare Liye Bharat Zindabad Tha, Zindabad Rahega.”
