Ram Mandir News: Nritya Gopal Das, President-elect, Champat Rai, General Secretary of Ram Mandir Trust | India News

NEW DELHI: Mahant Nritya Gopal Das was elected president and general secretary of Champat Rai of the Ram Temple Trust at his first meeting here on Wednesday.
The meeting, held at the residence of principal lawyer K Parasaran, also elected former prime minister Narendra Modi’s chief secretary, Nripendra Misra, as the head of the temple building committee of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirth Kshetra Trust.
The meeting aimed to develop modalities to accelerate the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. It was also decided to open an account at the branch of the Ayodhya State Bank of India for donations for the construction of the Ram temple, Chanmpat Rai told reporters after the meeting.
Swami Govind Dev Giri de Pune was appointed treasurer of the trust at the meeting.
Among those present at the meeting were the representative of the central government, the additional secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Gyanesh Kumar, the representative of the UP government, Avinash Awasthy, and the magistrate of the Ayodhya district, Anuj Kumar Jha.
The Trust was constituted by the government of Narendra Modi.
Modi had announced the formation of a 15-member trust in Parliament on February 5. The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teertha Kshetra Trust has seven members, five nominated members and three trustees. The trust was formed in compliance with the Supreme Court verdict on the Ayodhya dispute in November last year.
The principal lawyer Parasaran was appointed head of the Foundation and his other members include Jagatguru Shankracharya, Jyothishpeethadheeshwar Swami Vasudevanand Saraswati Ji Maharaj of Allahabad, Jagatguru Madhavacharya Swami Vishwa Prasannatheerth Ji Maharaj, Pejaur Mathi, Judva Maharaj, India. Giri Ji Maharaj de Pune and Vimlendra Mohan Pratap Mishra of Ayodhya.
