NEW DELHI: In an attempt to keep the Indians safe from the coronavirus, the country decided to ban the entry of foreigners who have been in China as of January 15, 2020. They will not be allowed to enter India from any air, land or sea port. . This includes our land borders with Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Myanmar.

“Foreigners who have been in China since January 15, 2020 are not allowed to enter India from any air, land or sea port, including the land borders of Indo-Nepal, Indo-Bhutan, Indo-Bangladesh or Indo -Myanmar … India has also immediately suspended all visas issued to Chinese passport holders, both regular visas and electronic visas, issued before February 5, 2020, “said the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in a circular entitled “suspension of regular visa and electronic visa for Chinese citizens residing anywhere and foreigners residing in China” issued on Saturday for all airlines, Indian and foreign, operating international flights to and from India.

“No Chinese citizen, as well as other foreigners currently in China, can travel to India with a regular (adhesive) visa or electronic visa, which they own (issued before February 5, 2020). In case of compelling reasons to travel to India, these people can contact the (Indian) embassy in Beijing or the consulates in Shanghai and Guangzhou to obtain a new visa, ”says the circular.

“These visa restrictions will not apply to air crews, who may be Chinese citizens or other foreign nationalities from China,” he adds.
