ICC U19 World Cup: senior team wishes the best for India U19 before the final | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: India will face Bangladesh in the final of the ICC U19 World Cup on Sunday. While this is the first time a Bangladeshi team has reached the final of an ICC tournament, India is looking to win a fifth title that extends the record and its second consecutive.

Members of the high-ranking Indian team, some of whom played and won the tournament in their youth, sent their wishes to the foals. The Cricket Control Board in India (BCCI) posted a video of the stars of the team sending their best wishes to their U19 counterparts in New Zealand.

The video featured Cheteshwar Pujara, who said he had been following the tournament. “I would like to tell you to follow the same process, do not take extra pressure for the final. Just keep playing your natural game and I am sure you will bring home the cup,” Pujara said.

The video also featured the participation of Vijay Shankar, the Wicketkeeper of Test Wriddhiman Saha and the vice-captain of Test Ajinkya Rahane. “It’s a great occasion and just try to enjoy it. Good luck guys,” Shankar said.

“Keep dominating as you always have been,” Saha said. “It doesn’t matter which opponent you face, just tear them away!”

“Play as you’ve been playing guys,” Rahane said. “We are all supporting you and the whole nation is behind you.”
