According to the latest Box Office India report, ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ which is helmed by Om Raut had minted Rs 115.28 crore from the first week and saw a sudden rise in its collection during its second weekend. Now with Rs 170.28 crore from the first eleven days, ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ is expected to cross the 200 crore mark and also become the highest-grossing film in Ajay’s career.
The period drama which is based on the life of Maratha Empire’s military leader Tanaji Malusare has Ajay essaying the titular role while Saif plays the character of the main antagonist Udaybhan Singh Rathore. ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ seems to have hit the right chord with the audience as a good word of mouth has also helped the film excel in the domestic circuit.
The report further suggested that Om Raut directorial has been doing phenomenally great in Maharashtra and has surpassed the collections of ‘Dangal’, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, ‘Tiger Zinda’, ‘PK’ and ‘Sanju’ by a good margin. Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone’s ‘Chhapaak’ which released along with ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ has just managed to earn a mere total of Rs 29.70 crore.
