The star Deepika Padukone fried 4.25 rs on its first day


Maghna Gulzar’s ‘Chhapaak’ has been making headlines since the moment the film was announced. The film, starring Deepika Padukone as an acid attack ingther over our Laxmi Agarwal, finally made it to theaters on January 10, 2020.

While the film received positive reviews from audiences and critics alike, the film premiered at the box office fairly low. According to BoxofficeIndia.com reports, Deepika Padukone and The Dreamer of Sorte Mass Without Chereno picked up Rs 4.25 crore nett at the box office on their first day of release.

The film has reportedly grossed below estimate. Previously it was estimated that Meghna Gulzar’s management will be approximately gross Rs 6 crore nett. However, the film has only made collections in multiplexes and has barely been collected outside of large multiplexes.

Just before the film’s release, reports were weighed that Laxmi Agarwal’s lawyer Aparna Bhat has decided to take legal action against the creators of Deepika Padukone starrer for omitting to mention his name in the film.

After the same, a Court in Delhi on Thursday directed the creators of ‘Chhapaak’ to give the advocacy credits to Aparna Bhatt for her contribution in making the film. Additional Senior Civil Judge Dr. Pankaj Sharma directed director Meghna Gulzar and the creators of the film to mention the attorney’s name on the credit list.

The film also reached the great times, just days before the film’s release when actor and producer Deepika made a surprise visit to Jawaharlal Nehru University to express solidarity with the students who had been attacked.

Since then, it has been receiving both thanks from all sectors and criticism from other parts of the people.

It was in 2005 that Laxmi, who was just 16 years old, then was attacked by a 32-year-old man who threw acid at him because he had rejected his proposal. She didn’t let the incident bring her down. Laxmi went on to work as director of an NGO and also partnered with the Stop Acid Attacks campaign.

Directed by Meghna Gulzar, ‘Chhapaak’ stars Deepika Padukone and Vikrant Massey in the lead roles. Deepika will be seen playing the character of the acid attack surviving the laxmi Agarwal in the film.

The film blocked the horns with Om Raut’s ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’, starring Ajay Devgn, Saif Ali Khan and Kajol in the lead roles at the box office.
