JNU Violence: The UnJ Student Union and ABVP members face off on the News – Delhi campus

NEW DELHI: A clash broke out between members of the Student Union at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and the ABVP on the university campus on Sunday, sources said.

According to the sources, the confrontation took place during a public meeting organized by the UNJ Teachers’ Association.

The student union claimed that its president Aishe Ghosh and many other students were stone wounded by ABVP members.

But the RSS-backed student organization alleged that its members were brutally attacked by teams of affiliated students on the left and 25 of them were injured.

JNUSU stated that “ABVP members with masks moved around campus with lathis, rods and hammers.”

“They’re combing bricks… enter ingenalbergues and hit students. Several teachers and students have also been beaten,” Said JNUSU.

JNUSU President Ghosh has been attacked “brutally” and was bleeding from his head, they said.

Members of left-backed student costumes alleged that outsiders were allowed to enter campus and broke into shelters, including girls’ shelters.

Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) claimed that its members were brutally attacked by students affiliated with the left-wing student organizations SFI, AISA and DSF.

“About 25 students have been seriously injured in the attack and there is no information on the whereabouts of 11 students. Many ABVP members are being attacked in shelters and shelters are being vandalized by left-stay moriques,” said the ABVP.
