New Delhi, Sept. 19 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief on the passing away of renowned musician Uppalapu Shrinivas.
Prime Minister Modi recalled the mandolin maestro’s dedication and long-standing contribution towards music and said that he will always be remembered.
45-year-old Shrinivas breathed his last in Chennai today after an illness following a liver transplant.
Shrinivas, who played an electric mandolin and had collaborated with John McLaughlin, Michael Nyman and Michael Brook, was awarded the Padma Shri in 1998 and the Sangeet Natak Akademi award in 2010. (ANI)
