Amitabh Bachchan reaches 10 million mark on Twitter

Mumbai, Sep 2 (TruthDive): Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has crossed over 10 million followers on Twitter. With full excitement, Big B tweeted, “10 MILLION!! On Twitter!! Yeeahh!! Thank you all that follow me .. ! Next target 20!”

By reaching this milestone, the 71-year-old actor has left stars like Shah Rukh Khan (8.74 million), Aamir Khan (8.13 million), Salman Khan (7.99 million) and Priyanka Chopra (6.8 million). Many of his fans congratulated the actor on the micro blogging site.

Amitabh has acted in over 180 films and has recently done his Hollywood debut in “The Great Gatsby”. He has a waxwork at Madame Tussauds, the significance is it is the first to be made for an Indian actor. He hosts the popular show, Kaun Banega Crorepati, the Indian version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire. He carried Olympic flame in London Olympics, in 2012, one day before the opening ceremony.

Amitabh Bachchan is known for his adaptability to the social networking platform. He always keeps his fans amused and entertained by tweeting frequently about matters of international and national importance, sharing wonderful moments from his professional and personal life, and also connecting personally with his lovable fans by answering them directly on Twitter.

In May 2010, Amitabh joined Twitter and has put out 33,200 tweets since, and he constantly puts out updates, along with retweets of the issues he likes and even posts pictures almost every day.

The actor is also famous for introducing new developments on the platform. He had launched recently an initiative known as #BachchanBol through which on every Wednesday, Big B shares interesting and fun facts with his fans.

Currently, Amitabh is suffering from viral fever and has also cancelled the shoot of his upcoming film ‘Piku’. Being very active on his Twitter page, he tweeted that he is down with the fever, because of which a shoot had to be halted. He posted, “DAMN !! Just discovered .. Down with fever !! GN.” This was followed sometime later with another post, “Still down ! Shoot cancelled ! Not happy about that ! But shall persevere and be up for it by the morrow .. Resting ..!!”

Instantly, he received many retweets on his wellness. Immediately, Amitabh thanked his well-wishers in his next tweet, which was “To all that send their good wishes for my recovery .. a most grateful thanks ..”
