Chennai,Aug 22 (): We bring you the latest in Kollywood news today where the buzz is briskly doing rounds about Vijay’s expected project with celebrated director Shankar and Venkat Prabhu’s Chennai 600028.

Vijay to star in Shankar’s directorial?

Ilayathalapathy Vijay is rumoured to be cast in Shankar’s directorial soon after he wraps his fantasy film with Chimbu Devan.

Vijay is said to be taking up Chimbu Devan’s project next soon after he finishes shoots for his forthcoming Deepavali release, Kaththi.

Shruti Hassan, Sudeep and yesteryear beauty Sridevi are featured in the star cast of Vijay-Chimbu Devan’s fantasy film.

Meantime, director Shankar who is known to invite only close friends for his birthday get-togethers has invited actor Vijay for the last party (Aug.17) where the duo have spent some quality time together. Shankar is reportedly engaged in serious story discussions which the sources say is just the right storyline that could suit the image of Vijay.

On the sidelines, new posters of Vijay’s Kaththi are expected to be released around 6 pm today.

Well,one has to wait for the official confirmation to know if Shankar-Vijay project will take off.

Venkat Prabhu does Tamil Nadu and Kollywood proud!

Venkat Prabhu’s debut directorial Chennai 600028 released in 2007 has gone on to earn international honours.

Chennai 600028 starring Jai, Shiva,Premji Amaren,Aravind Akash,Nithin Sathya and Vijayalakshmi along with a set of fresh faces has been chosen by The Guardian, the prestigious British national daily, as one among five of cinema’s most memorable cricketing moments.

Venkat Prabhu is indeed honoured to share the glory along with the likes of Lagaan, Alfred Hitchcock’s The Lady Vanishes, Hope and Glory and I know how many runs you scored last summer.

With street cricket as the central theme, Chennai 600028  had all the elements of friendship, bonding ,team rivalry and love packed into it, laced with humour.

Having received good critical acclaim, Chennai 600028  was then declared  a ‘sleeper hit’ which meant it was a huge success in the entertainment industry, despite having fairly little promotion.
