Surat, Aug 4 (): Surat girl, named Deepa Jagtiani who played the eighth season of the TV reality show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ KBC live opening episode has won Rs 6,40,000.
Bollywood megastar and the host of Kaun Banega Crorepati, Amitabh Bachchan launched the eighth season of the popular TV reality game show on Saturday in Surat.
Businesswoman Deepa Jagtiani became the first female contestant to win Rs 6,40,000 in Surat during the premiere of the eighth season.
In the ‘fastest finger first’ with randomly selected 10 contestants, Deepa Jagtiani won with good scores and got an opportunity to play the game. With 14 questions, the theme of the latest season of the show is playing the viewers’ heart strings and the prize money is Rs.7 crore this year.
Deepa, who supports her brother in his business, sat on the KBC contestant chair. The Surat girl made a striking start at the show at first but later she got a little confused with her answers as the questions became harder from the next level. She used all her three lifelines – ‘phone a friend’, ‘triguni’ and ‘audience poll’ while playing the game and finally won a whooping prize amount of Rs 6,40,000 on launch day.
Deepa was accompanied by her mother and brother on the show. Before signing out of the show, she requested the 71-year-old host to narrate the dialogues of his super hit movie ‘Agneepath’. Most of the participants taking part in the first episode of the new season are Gujarat-based.
This episode will go on air on August 17 on Sony Entertainment Television.
Amitabh said nobody would go empty-handed from the show and they would win hearts. He wore blue jeans, a shirt and a cream jacket for the show. He added if people were capable, they would go with a big prize. As the prize money is Rs.7 crore this time, Big B had tagged the show as “Kaun Banega Mahacrorepati”.
