New Delhi, Aug 3 (): BJP MP-actor Shatrughan Sinha indicated in an interview to a TV channel that he might be inducted into the cabinet by Modi. After the current Parliament session is over, BJP is likely to expand the union ministry.
BJP president Amit Shah has been in talks with former president Rajnath Singh and RSS for short-listing the probables for inclusion in the ministry. Sinha won from Patna Sahib. Sinha speaking to India TV Rajat Sharma (to be telecast tonight) when queried whether he will get a cabinet berth replied that ‘ache din anewala hai’ (good days are going to come).
Further elaborating on this, he said he was the only BJP MP to win with a record margin across Bihar and Jharkhand. He said that his fans and supporters were surprised and sad that he did not get a berth in the ministry but this has not affected him.
Underlying the fact that BJP’s PM Modi has the right to choose his team, Sinha said that probably a rumour that he was unwell and his health condition was bad had made BJP have second thoughts on his entry to the ministry. Sinha said he had made a routine check-up at Kokilaben hospital and next day was at the swearing in ceremony in Delhi. At the function, Modi inquired about his health.
The actor turned MP said that he will not question the wisdom of Modi or the parliamentary board and he would not ask for ministerial berth on his own. If given he would not reject it either.
On the clash between L K Advani and Modi in the BJP over the PM candidate choice, Sinha said that Advani is his guru and rates him as a statesman par excellence but when BJP Parliamentary board opted for Modi, he accepted it as a disciplined party worker.
Sinha had pitched for Advani and many expected that he might not get a ticket to contest the polls. Sinha did not comment on the Nitish- Lalu alliance and speaking about his rivalry with Big B, he said it was a thing of the past and now they are matured and remain friends. Sinha was minister in the BJP ‘s Vajpayee ministry.
